SANTA ROSA, LAGUNA – The Negosyo Center seeks to serve as a support system to nurture and facilitate the growth of the micro, small and medium enterprises. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic has already hit small businesses hard. What’s worse is that some business experts are saying that this is only the beginning. Whether the pandemic ends within a month or two or stretches into the long term, small business owners need to be ready to buckle down, reassess and make changes to their business strategy in order to weather the storm and beyond.
The Department of Trade and Industry Laguna Provincial Office (DTI-Laguna), thru the Negosyo Center City of Santa Rosa, in partnership with the City Government of Santa Rosa and City Cooperative Development Office, conducted a webinar via Zoom and aired in Facebook Live last September 21, 2020, to compete in the crisis and to make a strategic decision that will leave business stronger at the other end of this challenge.
Fixed costs are the bills that the business has to pay no matter what. Even if the firm has shut down, closed premises or stopped serving customers, it will likely still be facing these kinds of costs. The said webinar tackled to control the fixed costs during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and strategies that are needed to make the difference to the survival of the business. Moreover, the event was facilitated by DTI-Laguna Negosyo Center Business Counselor Jean S. Resurreccion and LGU-designated Negosyo Center Staff, Ms. Aileen Abanes, Ms. Kate Katigbak and Mr. Janmartin Almodovar, together with Mr. Jerry Cocabo Yao, known as “The Marketing Sensei”, as the resource speaker. A total of thirty (30) participants attended the said event. ♦
