Local Price Coordinating Council Tayabas City conducts 1st convening session

The Local Price Coordinating Council (LPCC) of Tayabas City had its first convening session yesterday, 12 August 2021 at the Casa Comunidad de Tayabas, Tayabas City, Quezon.

Present during the meeting were Honorable Ernida Agpi Reynoso, City Mayor of Tayabas City (Chair, LPCC) and Julieta L. Tadiosa, CESO V (represented by Lani O. Constantino, Consumer Protection Division OIC-Chief Trade and Industry Development Specialist) as the Vice-Chair of LPCC.

Matters and agendas discussed during the convening session were: (1) regular meeting schedule of LPCC members; (2) centralization and creation of hotline number for consumer concerns; and (3) price monitoring schedule and creation of task force, which will be drafted into another local executive order.

The LPCC aims to coordinate and rationalize programs of implementing agencies to stabilize prices and supply at the local level. The City Local Government of Tayabas recognizes the essential role of LPCC for Tayabasin consumers, thus the LPCC as a whole, commits to enshrine the provisions Consumer Act and Price Act for the benefit of all.

As agreed, the next regular LPCC convening session will be on 15 September 2021. ♦
