VICTORIA, LAGUNA – To protect the interests of the consumer, promote the general welfare, and establish standards of business and industry, the government enacted various laws that regulatory bodies like the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) shall implement.

In this regard, DTI-Laguna conducts monitoring activities to make sure that establishments are being compliant with the law and that no substandard products under the mandatory certification (DAO 02:2007) are being sold in the market.

Fifteen (15) firms were covered during the series of monitoring activities conducted last 21, 22, and 27 January 2021 in the areas of Nagcarlan and Calamba City, Laguna.

Products covered include construction materials, lighting and wiring devices, household appliances, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

All products monitored bear the necessary PS/ICC marks/Approved logos. Certifications were also validated.♦
