On 26-27 May 2022, a joint inspection was held in Cagbalete Island, Mauban, Quezon. The activity was initiated by the Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) of LGU Mauban to ensure that business establishments therein comply with the existing local and national laws. The joint inspection team is composed of representatives from different regulatory offices like BPLO, DTI Negosyo Center- Mauban, Engineering, Sanitary, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction, and Management Office (MDRRMO), Public Employment Service Office (PESO), Treasurer’s office, Tourism Office, Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and Philippine National Police (PNP).
The Joint Inspection Team (JIT) inspected a 36 business establishments, consisting of 22 businesses related to eateries, hardware, milk tea shop, bakery, sari-sari store, mini-grocery, and 14 beach resorts.
During the inspection, the Business Counselor of Negosyo Center- Mauban, Nicole P. Lleva, gave application forms to businesses that have yet to be registered. She explained the importance of registering a business in DTI, stating it as the first requirement in order to get a business permit from the Mayor’s office for sole proprietors.
BPLO Mauban and DTI Negosyo Center verified the validity and required display of permits applicable to their business establishments. Meanwhile, other regulatory offices checked each establishment to see if they were in compliance based on their offices’ checklist. ♦
