6 December 2022 | Negosyo Center Cainta organized a seminar on visual merchandising for its PPG Sari-Sari store beneficiaries at the People’s Center, Cainta Municipal Compound, Cainta, Rizal. The program was hosted by Business Counselor Jaymie Benito of Negosyo Center Cainta.
The seminar was deliberated by Mr. Ronald Rommel N. Viloria- Industrial Design/Design Instructor. Sir Rommel discussed the following topics: the definition of visual merchandise, the elements and principles of good visual merchandise, the impact of the five senses in visual merchandise, and the purpose of visual merchandise. Furthermore, Sir Viloria showed and explained the planogram, showing samples of different store designs. Then he listed the common mistakes in visual merchandising that were made by store owners and staff.
In the afternoon session, a workshop was done, and the participants were divided into five groups. Each group arranged the products they brought from their stores according to the lessons they had learned from the discussion of visual merchandising. They were also allowed to use props, which can be found in the activity area. It was followed by a group presentation, explained by the group representatives.
Afterward, a second trial was given by Mr. Viloria; he let the groups rearrange their output based on his advice. Then he finally looked at and judged the results of each group. Surprisingly, the resource speaker was impressed by the outcome because participants showed remarkable work from the workshop.
The seminar ended with the awarding of the certificate to the resource speaker, presented by Trade & Industry Specialist, Jonalyn Adaya. ♦
