Cavinti, Laguna – One of the responsibilities of Negosyo Center is to promote ease of doing business and facilitate access to services for MSMEs within its jurisdiction, and by means of access to services, SME Roving Academy (SMERA) is one of the DTI continuous learning programs designed for the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) for them to become competitive in the domestic and international markets.

In order to help the potential entrepreneurs to have a more comprehensive knowledge in setting up a business and financial literacy the Negosyo Center Cavinti conducted a face-to-face SME Roving Academy (SMERA) entitled “How to Start a Business and Financial Literacy Orientation Seminar” last 18-19 October 2021. The said activity was spearheaded by NCBC Cavinti Ms. Josephine Ballesteros together with Negosyo Center Business Counsellor (NCBC) Pakil, Ms. Andrea Macuha and was held at the Sports Complex, Poblacion, Mahipon and Silangang Talaongan Covered Courts, Cavinti, Laguna.

The resource speakers clearly discussed the process of setting up a business and the significance of each part of financial literacy as well as the registration of business name. To further equip and make the entire learning experience of the participants complete, the NC Cavinti Business Counselor will send each participant with a copy of a “Setting Up a Business” power point which they can use as reference or guide in starting their own business. They were also encouraged to visit the Negosyo Center Office located beside the Municipal Building should they need assistance.

The seminar received positive comments from the participants and they expressed their satisfaction with the learning activity. All of the participants who answered the Client Satisfaction Form graded it passed. Overall, the SMERA program was commended by the potential MSMEs and that they are pleased to join the future seminars, mentoring and coaching sessions of the Negosyo Center Cavinti.

The recently conducted seminar of the Negosyo Center Cavinti was attended by a total of 146 potential MSMEs from different barangays of Cavinti, Laguna (Labayo, Tibatib, Mahipon, Inao-awan Layasin, Silangan and Kanlurang Talaongan). ♦
