GUINAYANGAN, QUEZON — A Cities and Municipalities Competitive Index (CMCI) Validation was done at the Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall, Brgy. Poblacion, Guinayangan, Quezon on June 1, 2023. The validation was facilitated by Ms. Monina L. Talaga , Mr. Emmanuel Querubin, Mr. Lay-ar Baliza of the Quezon Office of the Provincial Planning Development Coordinator, Mr. Jed Marqueses of Southern Luzon State University, Ms. Anna Marie V. Quincina and Ms. Ma. Angelica O. Holgado of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)–Quezon, representatives from the Bureau of Fire Protection, and representatives from different offices.
The CMCI is an annual ranking of Philippine cities and municipalities developed by the National Competitiveness Council through the Regional Competitiveness Committees (RCCs) with the assistance of the United States Agency for International Development. Rankings of Cities and Municipalities are based on the sum of their scores on the Five Pillars: Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency, Infrastructure, Resiliency, and Innovation.
Vice Mayor Norman R. Dublois gave his welcome remarks by expressing his gratitude to the team for having a face-to-face validation of the said municipality.
Mr. Darwin Allyson O. Laduan, Business Permits and Licensing Officer-Designate/Acting Municipal Treasurer, introduced the Local Competitive Council, which consists of the offices of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office, Municipal Budget Office, the Municipal Tourism Office, the Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator, and the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist.
Ms. Quincina expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome of the Local Government Unit to the validators. She also expressed a future collaboration between DTI and the Tourism Office for the accreditation of business establishments in the tourism sector. ♦
