Pila, Laguna – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Laguna Provincial Office through Negosyo Center Pila, conducted a seminar on Setting-up a Business cum Financial Literacy on 28 October 2021 (Thursday) at Pinagbayanan Elementary School (Covered Court), Brgy. Pinagbayanan, Pila, Laguna.

A total of 77 potential and existing entrepreneurs from various Barangays of Pila, Laguna participated in the said event. Participants were identified as beneficiaries under Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of DSWD and they were divided into two sessions. The activity was also made possible through the collaboration of Pila Local Government Unit (LGU) and Public Employment Service Office (PESO).

Jason Palasin, LGU Pila PESO Manager, commenced the program with a prayer and was immediately followed by an opening remark. He emphasized the importance of the seminar, especially during the surge of pandemic, many had lost their job. He encouraged the locals to seize every opportunity provided by DTI and local government.

Aireen Muños and Nicols Consignado, both NCBC, imparted their knowledge about the topic. They introduced DTI and services being offered by Negosyo Center, discussed the pros and cons in starting a business. Both carefully tackled the step-by-step guide in analyzing one’s self and business environment, form and type of business, generating concrete business plan and sourcing capital. List of government and non-government agencies that provide assistance to entrepreneur were also mentioned. ♦
