TAYABAS, QUEZON — The program officially starts with a prayer and singing of the Philippine National Anthem at Training Room 1 on the 3rd floor of the New City Hall of Tayabas City, located in Brgy. Baguio. Attended by businesses from various food industries in Tayabas City, such as restaurants and Budin manufacturers, as well as sari-sari store owners and Food Technology students from Colegio de Ciudad de Tayabas, the seminar took place on May 17, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Ms. Jon Emilou M. Encomienda, DTI Negosyo Center Tayabas City – Senior Business Counselor, provided an overview of the program and acknowledged the participants.
April Wendy S. Ponce, a Sanitation Inspector III from the City Health Office, leads a discussion on various food safety topics. Participants actively engage in topics such as the importance of food safety, food contamination, proper handwashing techniques, personal hygiene, cross-contamination prevention, temperature control, allergen management, cleaning and sanitization practices, food safety regulations and compliance, as well as best practices and risk mitigation.
The knowledge gained from this seminar will undoubtedly assist businesses in ensuring food safety, maintaining compliance with regulations, and implementing effective risk mitigation strategies. For the attendees, including the Food Technology students, this seminar served as a valuable learning experience to enhance their understanding of food safety and contribute to their future careers in the industry.♦
