PPG is DTI’s livelihood entrepreneurship program, which aims to provide support to priority sectors and individuals through provision of training and livelihood starter kits. DTI, through the assistance of 30 Laguna local government units (LGUs), has identified potential program recipients who belong in any of the following:

  1. Fire-incident victims;
  2. Natural calamity-affected individuals;
  3. Wounded-in-action or killed-in-action (WIA/KIA) uniformed personnel;
  4. Human-induced hazard victims; and
  5. Micro-enterprises in depressed areas and/or affected by pandemic.

The validation process aimed to sort profiles and identify the needs of the would-be and existing micro-entrepreneurs, in accordance with their proposed or existing businesses. Most emerging requests are of edible items for food retailers, equipment for manufacturing and tools for services.

Entrepreneurial training for selected PPG beneficiaries are scheduled next, on the second quarter of the year. ♦
