Bagsakan Panublion sa Western Visayas

DTI Region 6 held a Bagsakan Fair in partnership with the Bureau of Domestic Trade Promotion (BDTP) on 2 – 6 March 2022 at Robinsons Place Iloilo. This is the first Bagsakan Fair in the Visayas. It was participated by 79 MSMEs from Region 6 and 3 from other regions, both selling food and non-food products.

The fair was also participated by 2 Technology Business Incubators (TBIs) who showcased their developed products which will soon be available for sale in the market. MSMEs were able to generate a total of P6.93M – P6.82M for Region 6 MSMEs and P109,826.00 for the three MSMEs from other regions. Fourteen percent (14%) of the total sales is cash sales, eighty-one percent (81%) is booked products and five percent (5%) is under negotiation.

The province of Aklan topped the sales with more than 5 million pesos. BDTP conducted a buying mission composed of five (5) companies, namely, Rustan’s, Island Accents, Robinson’s Place Manila, Robinson’s Place Iloilo and Tesoros. The buying mission was successful because it generated more than seventy percent (70%) of the total sales of the Bagsakan Fair. It also led to linkages and additional networks of MSMEs/Exhibitors.DTI Region 6 targeted a total sale of only P1.5M and was able to accomplish 4.62 times its target sales. This is a good start for the succeeding Bagsakan Fairs which will be conducted in other regions.

During her closing message, DTI 6 Assistant Regional Director (ARD) Ermelinda Pollentes said that, “Indeed, this is a very good year for all 82 MSMEs/Exhibitors in the “Panubli-on sa Western Visayas Bagsakan Fair” 2022 for five days. Hopefully, our buyers will continue to support our local MSMEs. They can continually support by installing and using our Panubli-on App which is already available in both the Play Store and App Store.

We have encouraged all MSMEs to have an online presence to generate more sales and have seamless transactions.” Bagsakan Fair is a special project initiated by the BDTP at the onset of the pandemic as a crisis response project to help MSMEs sell their products and support the economy. This initiative has evolved as one of DTI’s commitments under the “Bayanihan We Heal as One Act” to help ensure the supply of food and essential products while helping MSMEs, farmers, fruit growers and social cooperatives market and sell their products during the pandemic. DTI Region 6 will not stop assisting and promoting our local MSMEs and help them support our economy return to pre-pandemic level.
