The DTI-Region 6 continues to provide opportunities to micro, small and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) to adapt and innovate in addressing the challenges brought about by the pandemic.

The Leveraging Digital Marketing Solutions for Business Growth trained MSMEs in the shift towards digitalization and accelerating digital transformation or Industry 4.0 for the post-pandemic future.

It exposed MSMEs in the trends and various digital marketing strategies specifically, the content performance, lead generation, impressions, shares, and clicks for certain products and services.

A total of 171 participants joined the activity Wednesday, 7 July 2021 via Zoom and Facebook Live.

Marianito “Jojo” Vito, vice president of the Association of Negros Producers, and Josephine Marie De Luzuriaga, social media marketing coordinator of Rain Factory, Inc., shared how their respective businesses cope with the changing environment.

Vito and De Luzuriaga, as resource persons, discussed how they came up with innovative ideas and explored the digital platform in promoting their products and services when COVID-19 hit.

DTI-R6 Regional Director (RD) Rebecca M. Rascon said that as the rise of proactive audience spending time online is observed, there is a need to take advantage of the new and effective digital marketing strategy to stay competitive online.

Assistant (RD) Ermelinda P. Pollentes reiterated that MSMEs as the backbone of our economy needs to become innovative and competitive in this time of pandemic, hence, digital solutions are essential.

Further, Jonathan D. De Luzurriaga, president of the Philippine Software Industry Association and CEO of Spring Valley Tech Corp., announced that DTI-R6 will embark on a pitching competition open for startups in Western Visayas. This will form as a critical component of the Online Slingshot Region VI 2021 slated on 28-29 September 2021.

With a theme, Moonshot TNK: Supporting MSMEs through Trabaho, Negosyo at Konsyumer Innovative Solutions, it aims to aid startups to convert their ideas into breakthrough innovations in the fields of health, poverty, education and environment.

DTI-R6 has embarked on a series of digital marketing initiatives as a step towards the realization of a Philippine E-Commerce Roadmap 2022. Other programs started by DTI-R6 were the conduct of a dialogue with information technology groups and the academe, and the recently concluded IT-BPM Technology and Innovation Mapping on 24-25 June 2021. ♦
