CEBU – In a ceremony for the DTI Business Name Registration (BNR) Awards & Recognition by the DTI Digital Philippines Business Name Registration Division (DPh*BNRD), DTI Region 7 Central Visayas received the BNR Regional Excellence Award for Online BNR (Top 1) for having the highest percentage of BN registrations online compared to the total number of BN registrations per region.
DTI 7 marked a total of 58,914 online BN registrations in 2022, out of a total of 70,938 BN registrations in the region.
Its provincial office, DTI Cebu, also received the BNR Excellence Award Sub-Regional for Online BNR (Top 1) for having the highest percentage of BN registrations online compared to the total number of BN registrations per province.
DTI Cebu accounted for 92% of online BN registrations out of its total BN registrations in 2022.
The provincial office also received the BNR Excellence Award Sub-Regional for Most Number of BN Registrations (Top 3) for recording 50,489 BN registrations in 2022, equivalent to 5.39% of the total BNs registered nationwide.
In a statement, DTI 7 Regional Director Maria Elena Arbon said that DTI 7 fully adopted the system early on and instituted programs to advocate and promote early adoption by the public since May 2019.
“Today, we are being recognized for this laudable DTI program that promotes ease of doing business and proves that the government can indeed conduct business in digital mode,” said Dir. Arbon.
“Thank you to DTI’s leadership for deciding to embark on this program, Asec. Jean Pacheco for making this aspiration happen, the DTI 7 team, especially the frontliners at our provincial offices, whose early and easy embrace of this initiative not only allowed us to receive this recognition but also enabled DTI 7 to provide our enterprises with the ease of doing business they have been clamoring for, for a long time,” she added.
The DTI BNRS Next Gen was launched to the public on May 20, 2019. This platform enabled end-to-end registration of BN, wherein the public can apply for new registration, renewal, and request certification from the comforts of their homes.
The DTI Business Name Registration (BNR) Awards & Recognition was held on Tuesday July 25, 2023 at the Rizal Park Hotel in Metro Manila, to pay tribute and express gratitude to all the BN processors at DTI offices and Negosyo Centers nationwide, and to recognize its top performers, both individuals and institutions.
DTI 7 employees – Janice Angana of DTI Cebu, Gemma Mansera of DTI Siquijor, Julius Locot of DTI Bohol, and Nathaniel Amores of DTI Negros Oriental were also recognized as Best BN Processors in the region.
The DTI Philippines has also announced that all applications for business name (BN) registration shall be done 100% online effective August 01, 2023. Direct: https://bnrs.dti.gov.ph/. ♦
