ZAMBOANGA CITY—DTI Region 9 OIC-Regional Director Ceferino J. Rubio gladly revealed last week that Zamboanga Peninsula Exposition (ZAMPEX) 2020 will run online via Facebook from 22 June 2020 to 22 September 2020 with a P10 M sales target. ZAMPEX is an annual regional trade fair organized by the Department of Trade and Industry Region 9 which started in 2014. For the last six (6) editions, this was conducted thru a physical exhibit in various venues with Manila as its 2019 venue. For its 7th edition, ZAMPEX ONLINE specifically aims to showcase the globally competitive products of DTI-assisted MSMEs in Zamboanga Peninsula; digitalize transactions where MSMEs products can conveniently be availed by individual customers or institutional buyers through an ordering website; develop wider market reach for MSMEs products thereby increasing their production, sales, investments and employment opportunities and attract more diverse exhibitors and visitors, creating massive online audiences for MSMEs to share their innovation.

Rubio said ZAMPEX Online is now open for  business. Interested buyers can now start browsing for the region’s best products at the ZAMPEX Online Facebook page and place their orders at https://www.jotform.com/form/201333742807047. Anyone can order at least P500.00 worth of products and get free delivery, within a 10-km radius from the DTI-Region 9Provincial Offices. It will only take six (6) steps to carry out one’s purchase: 1.) browse products in ZAMPEX Online Facebook Page; 2.)  click the link and open the ordering platform; 3.) choose products and place orders; 4.) provide delivery information; 5.) wait for order information and delivery and 6.) pay and enjoy purchased products.

Rubio added that to date, a total of thirty-three (33) MSMEs with almost eighty (80) products have already made their products available thru ZAMPEX Online: Zamboanga City-ten (10) MSMEs with more than (20) twenty products; Zamboanga Sibugay- seven (7) MSMEs with fourteen (14) products; Zamboanga del Sur-three (3) MSMEs with seven (7) products, and Zamboanga del Norte- thirteen (13) MSMEs with forty-four (44) products. Products available online range from food to non-food which were further improved through product development activities and various trainings provided by DTI.

Rubio stressed that these participating MSMEs have been assisted by DTI through its various services like financial facilitation, investment facilitation, market awareness and expansion and trade promotion; and programs such as Kapatid Mentor ME (KMME), Negosyo Center (NC), Shared Service Facility (SSF), One Town One Product Next Gen (ONG), Pondo sa Pagbabago at Pag-aasenso (P3), among others. ARD Al-Zamir I. Lipae continues to call on interested MSMEs to visit their nearest Negosyo Center or DTI Provincial Office for the enlistment of their products online. With the ongoing community quarantine in all of the provinces in the region, nothing can be more convenient than buying products online. ♦
