The Department of Trade and Industry Rizal Provincial Office (DTI-Rizal), through Negosyo Center-Tanay, conducted a webinar on Basic Market Insights for Sari-Sari Stores with the Mansmith and Fielders, Inc. CEO Ms. Chiqui Escareal-Go on 28 June 2021 via Zoom. The webinar was anchored in the Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay Livelihood Seeding Program which aims to assist small storeowners on how to improve and expand their business amidst pandemic and challenges. Having series of webinars that will equip the entrepreneurs to analyze their situations positively will certainly sustain and possibly expand their businesses.

The activity was graced by DTI-Rizal’s Business Development Division Chief Sharon F. Dioco, on behalf of Provincial Director Desiderio Jurado III.  She reiterated that the retail sector, especially sari-sari stores, plays an active role in the economy. Hence, DTI-Rizal Provincial Office, thru the Negosyo Centers and in partnership with the local government, continues to assist retail entrepreneurs in expanding their products and service offerings.

The highlights of the webinar were discussions on the Seven (7) Principles of Effective Small Store Marketing and The Four (4) Tasks of Marketing. Escareal-Go explained that as a small storeowner, their business must stand out from other stores. She pointed out the importance of good customer relationships, and that trust must be earned to have repeat customers.

DTI-Rizal, together with Technology and Livelihood Development Center (TLDC) and the local government unit, continue to make efforts in conducting trainings that helps in the development of MSMEs and potential business owners especially in Tanay, Rizal.

The webinar was participated by 48 existing and aspiring entrepreneurs across the country. ♦
