NORTHERN MINDANAO — Consumer protection personnel of the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) Mindanao offices enhanced their knowledge in safeguarding the rights of consumers with a comprehensive training in conducting price monitoring on basic goods and commodities, monitoring and enforcement of fair trade laws, and service repair shop accreditation.

Thirty-six personnel from DTI Regions 9, 10, 11 , 12, and CARAGA underwent the Training on the Monitoring and Enforcement of Fair-Trade Laws, Price Monitoring, and Service Repair Shop Accreditation on June 20-22, 2023 at the New Conference Room, DTI Region 10, Cagayan de Oro City.

The three-day training provided insights on standard operating procedures, laws and regulations, and tips and techniques on executing the consumer protection process of the agency.

Resource persons of the training were Ms. Mary Denzyll Runal from the Consumer Protection and Advocacy Bureau (CPAB); Ms. Rosita Jaleco, Ms. Anna Katrina Miranda, and Ms. Lucila Salili of the Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau (FTEB); and Engr. John Christopher Adina and Engr. Kristian Bern Pacon of the Bureau of Philippine Standards (BPS).

DTI-BPS Director Neil Catajay also graced the training and met with DTI-10 Regional Director Ermedio J. Abang. ♦
