DTI-2 awards the top 20 LGUs in the 2018 CMCI Survey

The Department of Trade and Industry – Region 02 recently awarded the Local Government Units (LGUs) in Region 02 that landed on top 20 in the 2018 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index Survey (CMCI).
The award ceremony highlighted the 3rd Regional Competitiveness Forum held on November 16, 2018 at the Valley Hotel in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
Gathering more than 150 participants from all over the region, the Forum and Award Ceremony aimed to inspire and encourage LGUs to become more competitive in order to encourage investors in their localities to boost local economy.
Mr. Paul John Barrosa of LGU – Naga City discussed how LGU Naga City capitalized on the results of the CMCI Survey for Local Competitiveness and Good Governance. Meanwhile, Dr. Roberto Pagulayan, Executive Director of the Center for Research and Development, Angeles University Foundation gave a technical session on the utilization of the CMCI as research tool and as basis for policy formulation.
Grateful for their support and assistance in the conduct of the 2018 CMCI Survey, OIC RD Ruben Diciano particularly thanked the members of the Regional Competitiveness Committee in his opening message while congratulating the LGUs who improved their rankings in the survey. He said that by raising the bar of competitiveness, the LGUs are contributing in building a more competitive nation and he committed that DTI will remain their staunch supporter in this endeavour.
