Tuguegarao City kick-offs the conduct of its Business One Stop Shop (BOSS) on 3 January 2019, the first working day of the year with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Cagayan Provincial Office joining other government agencies involved in the business permit and license application process like the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Social Security System (SSS), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Pag-IBIG, and Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
The Business One Stop Shop, frequently referred to as BOSS is part of the government’s initiative to streamline the processing of business permits and licenses and improve the ease of doing business. It is usually conduct during the whole month of January.
DTI is the lead agency assigned in implementing and monitoring the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Delivery of Government Service Act, also known as Republic Act No. 11032. This law aims to speed up the delivery of government services by simplifying the issuance of business permits and licenses.
Under RA 11032, all government agencies, whether national or local, government owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs), government instrumentalities located in the Philippines or abroad shall comply with the prescribed processing time as follows: three (3) working days for simple transactions; seven (7) working days for complex transactions; and twenty (20) working days for highly technical applications. The law also specifically streamlines the procedures for securing the fire safety clearances and certificates from the Bureau of Fire Protection.
For business name registration (BNR), Cagayan business owners may opt to submit their BNR application forms at either the Tuguegarao City Hall BOSS or at the DTI Cagayan Provincial Office at the Regional Government Center, Carig Sur, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.♦
