Recognizing the significant importance of emergency preparedness, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) R2 Isabela Provincial Office, in collaboration with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), conducted a seminar focusing on Emergency Preparedness and Response on 05 April 2024 at the DTI R2 Isabela Provincial Office, Alibagu, City of Ilagan, Isabela.

Fire Senior Superintendent (FSSupt) Mr. Archie R Andumang, Provincial Fire Marshal, conveyed appreciation for the agency’s proactive initiative through Senior Fire Officer (SFO) 3 Engr. Joie R. Constantino, Chief of Operations. He expressed optimism that such training would increase the force multiplier considering the constraints posed by the limited number of their personnel. In response, DTI R2 Isabela affirmed its commitment to fostering a culture of safety and readiness among staff in case of emergencies.

Senior Fire Officer 1 Mr. Malcolm S. Prejillana, Chief of Emergency Medical Services, expertly delivered comprehensive presentations on essential topics including, Fire Prevention, Safety Measures, Basic First Aid, and Emergency Medical Care. Through engaging demonstrations, participants actively absorbed these essential skills while understanding the pivotal role of first aiders in emergencies and the importance of adhering to established protocols.

The said training, spearheaded by the Planning, Admin, and Finance Management Unit (PAFMU), not only enlightened the staff but also empowered them with essential emergency preparedness skills.

Looking ahead, DTI R2 Isabela remains steadfast in its dedication to continuously improving its emergency preparedness efforts reaffirming its commitment to holistic staff development.
