The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 02 recently launched the Kapatid Mentor ME (KMME) Program Batch 3 & 4 in Batanes on March 20, 2018.

The KMME Program was successfully implemented in the Province of Batanes in 2017 producing the first two batches of mentees with a total of 40 MSMEs who graduated from the program. For this year, 40 MSMEs were enrolled to undergo the same program.

Batanes Governor Honorable Marilou H. Cayco graced the launching activity. In her message, she stressed the importance of having programs like the KMME to continuously guide MSMEs improve and develop their own chosen enterprises. She also encouraged the participants to maximize the opportunities provided by DTI.

“Gusto kong kunin itong pagkakataon na magpasalamat kay Regional Director Diciano sa walang sawang suporta para sa ating probinsiya”, expressed by Governor Cayco.

Meanwhile, in the opening message of DTI Region 02 OIC-Regional Director Mr. Ruben B. Diciano, he emphasized that the program aims to assist the mentees to sustain and scale up their businesses by capacitating them the basics of entrepreneurship through the coaching of successful businessmen who are known as their “Mentors”. He also gave the assurance that DTI will be helping and guiding them all throughout the program and will provide necessary assistance to them.

Mr. Paul Anthony De Guzman, Marketing Officer of the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship (PCE) briefly discussed the KMME Program and its milestones since the program’s inception.♦
