In a joint endeavor to spur growth in the micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) sector in Cagayan, the Provincial Government of Cagayan, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Cagayan and the Cagayan MSMED Council held a Local Stakeholders’ Orientation and Consultation on Enterprise Development Plans at Crown Pavilion, Tuguegarao City on 12 October 2018.

The activity, which was attended by 120 stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, aimed to gather data and inputs to be incorporated in the draft Provincial MSME Development Plan 2018-2019.

Discussed during the consultation were salient provisions of EO 50/MSMED Plan 2017-2022 by Dr. Leonardo P. Urata, OIC Chief of Business Development Division of DTI Cagayan; the BMBE Law by OIC PD Winston Tan Singun of DTI Isabela; and the draft Provincial Trade and Industry Development Plan and Provincial MSMED Plan by Atty. Maria. Liza A. Guzman, Planning Officer and Negosyo Center Account Officer of DTI Cagayan. In his opening message, Cagayan Governor Manuel N. Mamba urged the participants to join him in his crusade for change and efforts to bring about economic growth in the province of Cagayan.

Likewise, representatives from DA, DOST, DOLE, TESDA, SB Corporation, and Provincial Planning and Development Office presented their respective programs, projects and activities relative to MSME Development.

Also present during the activity were PD Bernardino G. Mabborang of DTI Cagayan, Board Member Olivia Pascual of the 1st District of Cagayan, Mr. Arthur Tabbu, Co-Chair of the Cagayan MSMED Council and GM of Lighthouse Cooperative, and Rev. Dr. Samuel Garcia, PCCI Cagayan President.♦
