The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Council of Tuguegaro City which was created by the passing of Ordinance No.17-2018 on 11 April 2018, approved the Tuguegarao City IT-BPM Roadmap 2018-2022 during its regular meeting on 5 November  2018 at the City Mayor’s Conference Room, Tuguegarao City Hall, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. This act of the ICT Council paved the way for the advancement of the local ICT industry in the city.

In behalf of Mayor Jefferson C. Soriano, ICT Council Chairman, Atty. Joana May C. Pagurayan, Executive Assistant to the Mayor, presided over the meeting. Atty Pagurayan emphasized the urgent need to approve the roadmap that would guide the Council in attaining its objectives. According to Atty. Pagurayan, initial steps are already being undertaken in preparation for the IRR of the Tuguegarao City ICT Council. She also discussed the need for the membership of the TC-ICT in the City Development Council as the IT-BPM is a growing industry that needs to be considered by the CDC when setting the direction of economic and social development, and coordinating development efforts within Tuguegarao City. To further boost the momentum of the TC-ICT, a request for the augmentation of its budget is also underway.
 
The meeting is co-presided by Atty. Maria Liza A. Guzman of the Department of Trade and Industry Cagayan Provincial Office, sitting as Co-Chair to the Council. She discussed in detail the Tuguegarao City IT BPM Roadmap 2018-2022 and its corresponding Logical Framework emphasizing the need for all Council members to adopt and implement the programs, projects and activities in the plan

Mr. Chales Irvin Tagarino, DTI Alternate Representative, said that since technology has fast-paced development, the TC-ICT Council needs to equip its members and program implementors with ample knowledge and skills to effectively perform their tasks. Hence, the need for training fund for members is also required.
 
The Meeting was attended by representatives from the City Information Office, City Economic and Investments Promotions Office, City Planning and Development Office, City IT Office, PESO, NEDA-2, TESDA-2, CHED, HacktheNorth, and DepEd.♦
