SINILOAN, LAGUNA — The Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office headed by its Officer-In-Charge Mr. Christian Ted O. Tungohan paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Mayor of Siniloan Laguna, Engr. Patrick Ellis Z. Go, last 22 February 2023.

OIC Provincial Director Tungohan presented different programs and services offered by the Department articulately elaborating on topics of business name registrations, livelihood programs, quality standards and Barangay Micro Business Enterprise (BMBE) program, and monitoring of product compliance of the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The Mayor greatly displayed his interest in BMBE and sees it as an opportunity to encourage more of Siniloeños to register their businesses and avail the program’s incentives including a discounted payment for their Business Permits. Mayor Go with his full provision had also immediately tasked the Business Permit and Licensing Officer to conduct a thorough inspection of barangays of the municipality for businesses without permits. He politely asked the assistance of Negosyo Center to join the field operation.

In the course of the visit, issues and concerns were also tackled with the Mayor, one of which was the provision of Internet connection which the Mayor instantly acted with vigor.

Moreover, OIC Provincial Director Tungohan discussed the upcoming Anilag Festival which will be held on the second week of March. Possible MSME participants were presented, asking assistance from the local government unit to promote Siniloan products during the festival.

The meeting was fruitful and positive vibes were evident, concluding the morning session with a promise of complete support from each department. Also present during the visit were Trade and Industry Specialists Ms. Grace G. Del Carmen and Ms. Klyde Joy B. Bruno and Negosyo Center Siniloan Business Counselor Josephine A. Ballesteros. ♦
