The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Rizal Provincial Office in collaboration with LGU-Baras, Rizal successfully conducted a business forum on “Entrepreneurial Mindsetting” in celebration of 103rd Foundation Day Anniversary of Baras, Rizal as a town

BARAS, RIZAL — January 26, 2024 | The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Rizal Provincial Office in collaboration with LGU-Baras, Rizal successfully conducted a business forum on “Entrepreneurial Mindsetting” in celebration of 103rd Foundation Day Anniversary of Baras, Rizal as a town. The forum was well participated by farmers associations, Public Market vendors and various micro small entrepreneurs in town. The activity has 165 participants and was held at Baras Gymnasium, Baras, Rizal.

The program started at 10:00 in the morning with the prayer and singing of national anthem hosted by Ms. Roschelle V. Dela Cruz, LGU-Baras Budget Officer II. Afterwards, Exec. Asst. Mr. Hermie Estravo delivered his opening remarks in behalf of Mayor Wilfredo Robles. He welcomed and thanked the participants and acknowledge DTI-Rizal for its continuous support to the LGU programs. Another welcome message was delivered by Councilor Armingol Pilapil.

Business Counselor Arlene Olesco of Negosyo Center Baras introduced guest speaker from DTI-Rizal,Senior Trade and Industry Development Specialist Marlene De Luna, to share knowledge about “Entrepreneurial Mindsetting” with sub-topic “Start your own Business”.

Ms De Luna also expressed her appreciation to LGU-Baras and to all the participants. Afterwards, she started the discussion for the topic, Start your own business. She tackled about the advantages and disadvantages of having a business, steps to consider in starting a business, business ideas, types of business and business plan. After the discussion were open forum, participants actively participated in the Q&A portion. Ms. Marlene endorsed other government agencies like Small Business Corporation and DOST to participants seeking assistance related to the agency. Vice Mayor Kathrine Robles shared her inspirational experience as businesswomen to the participants and delivered closing remarks. Awarding of certificate of participation to DTI-Rizal resource speaker, Ms. De Luna was awarded by vice mayor and Councilors followed by the photo opportunity with the participants. The program ended at 12:00 in the afternoon. ♦
