Luisiana, Laguna — On November 14, 2023, Laguna micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) were equipped with latest trends, tips and best practices on social media marketing and Tiktok Shop selling through the eBiz Buy Local Bazaar Training conducted by the Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office (DTI Laguna), in partnership with Laguna Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (LCCI), PLDT and Smart, Tiktok Philippines and Entrepz Avenue at Cafetalista, Unit 1, The Junction at Stripmall, Carmelray Industrial Park, Brgy. Canlubang, Calamba City, Laguna.

Through a video message, the event was graced by Atty. Rose Coloma, President of LCCI. She mentioned how this training would help Laguna MSMEs be equipped and empowered. Also, Mr. Rafael Davila, SMBiz Regional Luzon Business Head who was present in the event, expressed his gratitude to event partners, PLDT, Smart, Tiktok, DTI Laguna and LCCI. He highlighted that this training, through these event partners, would teach and upskill MSMEs, providing access to technologies and solutions to help business prosper.

Ms. Maria Abio, Content Associate of Limitless Lab and an Accredited Trainer of PLDT and Smart, started with the presentation on branding and how a business can create a memorable brand. It included key points such as implementing a unique selling point, considering target buyers and practicing clear and consistent messaging. Furthermore, she discussed the importance of posting and creating social media contents that would help MSMEs establish brand awareness, convince customers to buy their products and make them more updated on new releases and promos.

Mr. Christian Ted Tungohan, Provincial Director of DTI Laguna, gave his special message wherein he showed his appreciation and gratitude to event partners and the City Government of Calamba. He emphasized the collaborative effort of private and government institutions for MSMEs and how this training would teach them explore Tiktok Shop and help foster business growth and innovation.

In continuation of the training, an activity entitled Content Storyboarding was done by the participants. Abio discussed the tips and strategies on video shooting for product promotions. She selected participants to present their created storyboards that gave MSMEs an opportunity to share their products, business’ background and brief history.

The Tiktok Shop which was the highlight of the event was presented by Mr. Klaude Mandaya, Education and Incentives Manager of Tiktok Philippines. A walk-through the Tiktop application was done for a comprehensive discussion and first-hand experience that the participants enjoyed. Tiktok Shop features, creating promotional video and joyful content, live streaming, selling through affiliates and managing products, orders and finances were thoroughly explained. Moreover, access to accurate and updated data and help center was discussed.

As the program ended, Ms. Relly Fajardo, Chief Executive Officer of Cafetalista and Entrepz Avenue, gave her message and shared information on how Entrepz Avenue becomes a co-working space that opens doors to potential and existing MSMEs. Lastly, Ms. Kristine Joyce Magadia, Program Lead for Livelihood of PLDT and Smart gave her closing remarks.
