Accompanied by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 6 staff, led by OIC-RD Ermelinda Pollentes, the visit highlighted the city’s openness to potential investment opportunities and partnerships with companies in the telecommunications industry.

The visit also served as an opportunity for FiberHome to present their one-stop information and communication technology (ICT) solutions and services, showcasing Iloilo City as a thriving hub for business and economic growth in the region.

The visit was an offshoot of the signing of a sisterhood agreement with Wuhan City, China in 2022 which was facilitated by Former PTIC-Beijing Special Trade Representative Glen Penaranda, now the Assistant Secretary of the DTI Trade Promotions Group. FiberHome International Technologies Co. Urban smart transportation is a crucial component of smart cities and a cornerstone of their construction, and it is becoming an inevitable trend globally as smart city development surges.

The team proceeded to the city’s command center where it provided them with an opportunity to observe the city’s current systems and infrastructure and discuss potential areas for collaboration and improvement.

Collaborating with FiberHome could potentially improve not only the telecommunications infrastructure of Iloilo City but also the entire region. This collaboration may open doors for greater economic growth and development through digital transformation.
