DTI Region 3 records remarkable achievements in assisting MSMEs and protecting consumers in the 1st Semester of 2023.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 3 has demonstrated its unwavering commitment to supporting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and ensuring consumer protection during the 1st semester of 2023. The region has achieved remarkable milestones in various areas, reflecting the agency’s dedication to fostering economic growth and enhancing consumer welfare.

For the 1st semester of 2023, the DTI Region 3 has successfully assisted an impressive total of 27,007 MSMEs. This significant support enables these enterprises to thrive, contributing to the region’s economic sustainability and development. Investor assistance has also been notable, with 54 investors being guided and supported by DTI, surpassing the initial target of 44 with a remarkable 123% rate. The same applies to exporters, as 104 exporters were assisted, exceeding the target of 77 by 135%.

Maintaining 139 Negosyo Centers has been crucial in providing entrepreneurs with accessible and valuable services. The centers have assisted 68,002 clients, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and resources for their business endeavors. Additionally, 10,301 MSMEs have embraced e-commerce opportunities, exceeding expectations with a 108% rate of adoption.

The KMME Program, known for its success in mentoring MSMEs, has produced 48 new graduates, further expanding the network of successful entrepreneurs committed to scaling their businesses.

In the realm of consumer protection, DTI-3 conducted an impressive 259 monitoring activities on 1,077 establishments, achieving a 100% compliance rate. This ensures that consumers are protected from unscrupulous practices and have access to quality products and services.

Business name registration has been on the rise, with a total of 118,791 registrations, including 105,107 new registrations and 13,684 renewals. This reflects the entrepreneurial spirit in the region, with an increasing number of businesses formalizing their operations.

DTI Region 3 has also actively promoted MSMEs through trade fairs, resulting in sales totaling 20.194 Million pesos from 63 trade fairs organized or participated in. The agency has also organized 13 successful diskwento caravans, generating sales of 15.581 million pesos, providing consumers with access to affordable products.

Efforts in consumer complaints resolution and mediation have been commendable, with 388 complaints resolved or mediated, achieving a 100% resolution rate. Face-to-face and virtual mediations have been effectively utilized, ensuring consumer satisfaction.

Client satisfaction ratings speak volumes about the quality of DTI Region 3’s services, with an outstanding 99.33% very satisfied rate, garnered from an impressive 98.52% retrieval rate.
