CALAMBA CITY, LAGUNA — The Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office (DTI-Laguna), in partnership with the Kilometro Zero Organization, conducted a seminar on how to start a business cum basic bookkeeping last December 06, 2023 (Wednesday, 8:00 am to 12:00 pm) at Barangay Canlubang Covered Court, Calamba City, which was attended by an approximately fifty-six (56) potential micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The program was hosted by Mr. Vincent Ryan B. Bagaporo, Regional IV-A President of Kilometro Zero Organization and Ms. Dorothy C. Remegio, President of Kilometro Zero Organization. It started with preliminaries including the invocation and national anthem. Remegio delivered the opening remarks which was followed by recognition of guests and participants. She then continued the program by introducing the set of speakers: Ms. Trixia Mae Sulte, Business Counselor of Negosyo Center Calamba, and Ms. Nicka Jean Atayde, Government Intern and Business Development Support Staff of Negosyo Center Santa Rosa. Both of the speakers are from DTI-Laguna.
Sulte started the seminar with the topic on how to start a business followed by basic bookkeeping which was discussed by Atayde.
The set of speakers provided the participants with information on what should be considered when starting a business and provided the steps on how to legally start their business toward becoming successful business owners. The seminar became a guide to the potential entrepreneurs on how to manage everything and monitor their business finances. In addition to this, the speakers provided the potential MSMEs with basic understanding on the identified topics and made the entire learning experience of the participants complete. A simple workshop for the participants included practicing their record keeping for their businesses.
The seminar received positive comments from the participants, and they expressed their satisfaction with the learning activity. All of the participants who answered the Client Satisfaction Form graded it passed. Overall, the seminar was commended by the potential MSMEs, and they expressed their interests to join the future seminars, mentoring and coaching sessions of DTI-Laguna.
All the participants were very grateful for the information through this seminar. They also expressed their gratitude for this opportunity to start their businesses with the help of DTI in giving free basic seminar. ♦
