SANTA CRUZ, LAGUNA — The Laguna Provincial Office of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI-Laguna), represented by their Officer-in-Charge Christian Ted Tungohan and Business Development Division OIC Chief Abigail Ezra Del Mundo, participated in the 2nd Quarterly Joint Meeting of Municipal and City Local Laguna Economic Development and Investment Promotions Offices (LEDIPOs) and Business Permit and Licensing Offices (BPLOs) of Laguna held at the Conference Room, Governor’s Office, Provincial Capitol Compound, Santa Cruz, Laguna, on May 16, 2023.

In the said joint meeting, Tungohan discussed the upcoming marketing events of DTI-Laguna tied up with the Provincial Government of Laguna and Megaworld Lifestyle Malls to be in held in three premier malls of Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, namely, Eastwood City in Quezon City, McKinley Hill in Taguig City, and Newport Mall in Pasay City this coming May 26 to 31, 2023, June 22 to 25, 2023, and July 12 to 15, 2023, respectively. This staged, relevant event is under the umbrella project called “Tara, Pasyal Na” which is an initiative of Megaworld Lifestyle Malls and the Department of Tourism to help support our country’s economic development and to help our micro, small, and medium enterprises build brand awareness, generate new leads, boost market reach, and meet with partners.

Tungohan then urged the support of BPLO and LEDIPO designates in Laguna by way of helping DTI-Laguna and the Provincial Government of Laguna in identifying best of the best products in their town to be exhibited and showcased in the said marketing events. More so, Tungohan took the opportunity to express his appreciation to everyone for the timely submission of data in Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index online portal and he hopes that more Laguna local government units will be included in the awardees this year. He also mentioned that DTI-Laguna, thru the Negosyo Centers in different cities and municipalities, will provide assistance in the conduct of information dissemination to micro, small and medium enterprises in their respective areas on the importance of applying/registering their intellectual properties.

DTI-Laguna wishes that they can work hand in hand with the local government units in boosting economic development and promoting/facilitating viable investments in the province.
