VICTORIA, LAGUNA — The Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office No. 4 CALABARZON and the Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office (DTI Laguna), in collaboration with the Provincial Government of Laguna through the Field Agriculture Extension Services – Office of the Provincial Agriculturist Laguna (FAES-OPAg Laguna), participated in the Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP) Nationwide Rollout on July 17, 2023 at Time Plaza, Provincial Capitol Compound, Santa Cruz, Laguna.

In line with the simultaneous KNP rollout throughout the country, the KNP in Laguna was officially opened with the presence of the following officials: Laguna Vice Governor Hon. Karen Agapay, FAES-OPAg Laguna Provincial Agriculturist Marlon Tobias, Department of Labor and Employment Laguna Provincial Director Guido Recio, and DTI Laguna Acting Provincial Director Christian Ted Tungohan.

DTI Laguna and other partner agencies invited more than 20 Laguna homegrown micro, small, and medium enterprises, as well as farmers and other businesses engaged in agricultural products and basic necessities, to sell and showcase their products. Among the products sold were rice, eggs, fresh meat, fruits, vegetables, locally processed food products, and wearables. More than Php145,000.00 sales were generated in the said one-day activity.

The KNP is a project of His Excellency Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. which aims to provide quality and affordable food products and other basic necessities and prime commodities to every Filipino family. It also intends to address the rising food prices by providing rent-free venues or stalls to micro, small, and medium enterprises as well as farmers and fisherfolks.
