Mr. Jose Maria Fajardo established Dasolted Egg and Fruits Poultry Products Wholesaling in 2020 by selling fresh egg, salted egg, and balut at their rented house in Barangay Kaytapos, Indang Cavite.

Mr. Fajardo is a former OFW who worked as a purchasing officer in a top fashion retail establishment in Saudi Arabia. In 2010, he decided to stay in the country for good and worked as an operations manager at Tagaytay Zoo.

He managed to own a successful travel and tours business but had to close it as the tourism industry was severely affected during the nationwide lockdown in 2020. Left with no other choice, he revived the egg wholesaling old family business to aid their family’s needs.

Instead of falling into despair, he took the lockdown as an opportunity to expand his mastership in the business. He saw the Kapatid Mentor ME advertisement while scrolling down at the travel and tours Facebook group and decided to register for an interview. Luckily he was selected as one of the 10 KMME-MME Multi-Sectoral 2021 Batch.

The program gave him hope and a whole new perspective to pursue the egg wholesaling business. In addition, he was also motivated to add up more products and business ventures. He was able to adapt fresh new ideas from the program. He also secured business partnerships with Mang Boy’s Lugawan in Trece Martirez and other retailing stores in their area.

Through the help of Negosyo Center-Provincial Office, he also obtained an MSME loan from the Bank of the Philippine Islands to fund his business expansion and store renovation.

The knowledge from the program was shared with his son, who he entrusted to be his successor, and his wife, who contributes to the continuous development of “Dasolted Egg”.

“Dont give up! Ang problema nandiyan lang ‘pag sumuko ka talo ka, kaya dont give up laban lang, ipaglaban mo ang buhay mo at ang buhay ng pamilya mo,” said Mr. Fajardo during the interview. ♦
