CEBU CITY — DTI assisted MSMEs — through its One Town, One Product (OTOP) program — bring pride as they showcase their products at the Cebu Provincial Government’s One Cebu Island Expo.
Open from August 16 to 20 and located at the Mountain Wing Atrium of SM Seaside City Cebu, these OTOPreneurs are among the MSMEs which joined the expo that features export-quality products of Cebu’s six component cities, 44 municipalities, including the tri-cities of Cebu, Mandaue, and Lapu-Lapu.
DTI Region 7 Central Visayas Regional Director Maria Elena Arbon and DTI Cebu Provincial Director Rose Mae Quiñanola joined and supported Cebu Province Gov. Gwen Garcia with SM Prime Holdings Vice President Marissa Fernan and Belgium Honorary Consul Enrison Benedicto in its opening ceremony on Wednesday, August 16, 2023.
The DTI, thru its OTOP program, assisted these MSMEs through product development including packaging, labeling and designs. These MSMEs are also capacitated with entrepreneurial development and food safety seminars.
Aside from promoting local products and delicacies of Cebu, the expo is also part of the month-long 454th Founding Anniversary celebration of the province.
