The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) R2 Cagayan collaborated with Tuguegarao City Science High School (TCSHS) in hosting a Consumer Education Information (CEI) Seminar on 04 April 2024 at the TCSHS Mini Gym, aimed to equip students with essential knowledge and skills for navigating today’s intricate marketplace.

Led by STIDS Tessie Guitering, the seminar provided valuable insights into consumer rights and responsibilities, fair trade laws, and strategies for wise and safe shopping. With the participation of 145 students from both grade 11 and grade 12, the seminar fostered a proactive approach to consumerism among the youth.

Another highlight of the seminar was the comprehensive discussion led by Atty. Angie Gumaru on RA 11900, commonly known as the Vape Law. Given the rising prevalence of vaping among students, the discussion underscored the importance of understanding legal frameworks surrounding such emerging consumer products.

Mr. Eduardo Dela Rosa, Principal of Tuguegarao City Science High School expressed gratitude to the DTI for spearheading the initiative in the said school.
