Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) through its Negosyo Center Santa Cruz joins the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Santa Cruz - Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) in a financial literacy seminar for sixty-one graduates of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps)

SANTA CRUZ, LAGUNA — The Laguna Provincial Office of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) through its Negosyo Center Santa Cruz joins the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Santa Cruz – Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) in a financial literacy seminar for sixty-one graduates of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) on February 8, 2024, at the Municipal Auditorium, Brgy. Poblacion III, Santa Cruz, Laguna.

DTI Negosyo Center Business Counsellor Mara Bayunggan discussed basic financial skills including budgeting, saving, investing and debt-managing. Bayunggan also emphasized financial literacy’s importance toward financial stability and growth.

As part of the session, participants were also tasked to identify and share their short-term financial goals in accordance to their priority needs and wants.

Santa Cruz MSWDO head Gina D. Dela Cruz said, “Mahalaga na mapag-aralan ang financial literacy upang ‘di na tayo manatili o bumalik sa kahirapan. (It is important for us to learn financial literacy in able not to stay or return being poor”. Dela Cruz added that the seminar is conducted in preparation for LGU’s After Care Program.

Participating 4Ps graduates are about to receive livelihood assistance in the form of lent capital for their respective businesses.

Municipal Mayor Edgar “Egay” S. San Luis graced the event hoping for the continuous life upliftment of the 4Ps graduates. “Sana nawa’y tuloy-tuloy ang pagsulong”, Mayor San Luis exclaimed (LMdLBayunggan, DTI-Laguna). ♦
