NORTHERN MINDANAO – Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 10 generated total sales of P1.9 million from its series of Kadiwa ng Pangulo-Diskwento Caravan/Diskwento Caravan Rice Edition conducted on September 2023.  

Diskwento Caravan is a program of DTI that serves as an avenue for consumers to access basic goods and other quality products at discounted prices. To help address the current rice challenges, the caravan’s rice edition was initiated to bring affordable rice to the public. The rice supply was provided by National Food Authority (NFA) at P25 per kilo and rice distributors—Soda Enterprises Incorporated, BLY Agri Venture Trading, and RBS Universal Grains Trading Corporation—which sold their well-milled rice at P43-P45 per kilo.

The caravans benefitted 6,437 consumers and were conducted in Iligan City; Impasug-ong and Malaybalay in Bukidnon; and Plaridel and Aloran in Misamis Occidental.

In Cagayan de Oro City, the Diswkento Caravan Rice Edition was organized for two weeks, making it the longest Diskwento Caravan conducted. ♦
