SANCHEZ MIRA, CAGAYAN – In response to the state of calamity declared in Sanchez Mira, Cagayan, following the effects of Typhoon “Egay,” the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 2 has taken proactive steps to monitor the compliance of business establishments in the area with the implemented price freeze on basic necessities.

The DTI R2 has visited business establishments to disseminate crucial information, emphasizing the mandatory compliance with the price freeze on basic goods, within Sanchez Mira. Business establishments are apprised of the directive to maintain the prices of these basic necessities to reduce the burden on the affected communities.

The price freeze aims to protect consumers and stabilize the cost of essential goods during the aftereffects of Typhoon “Egay.”

The team proceeded from Sanchez Mira, Cagayan to Claveria, Cagayan to oversee the stability of supply and prices of essential goods in that area.

The Department of Trade and Industry in Region 2 is urging all business owners and operators to fully cooperate with the monitoring team. It is important to strictly adhere to the Suggested Retail Prices of Basic and Prime Commodities, especially in areas that have been declared under a state of calamity. By working together, we can contribute to the recovery and resilience of our community during this challenging time.
