DTI Rizal through its Collaborative Harnessing Assistance for Mentoring Program for SMEs (CHAMPS) conducted Facebook, Instagram, and Tiktok Marketing last August 2, 2023, and was joined by 29 attendees consisting of CHAMPS Beneficiaries and other existing and potential MSMEs.
Hosted by Negosyo Center Cardona Business Counselor Johanna Faye R. Javier, the webinar started with opening preliminaries followed by a welcoming message from Senior Trade and Industry Development Specialist Marlene De Luna wherein she looked back on the previous modules and expressed how she hopes that the modules have already made an impact not only to their businesses but also to the beneficiaries themselves as entrepreneurs.
The day’s resource person, Mr. Joamar-John Canosa, is a registered nurse by training but found himself flourishing in the creative industry specifically fashion styling, filmmaking, and content creation in Myanmar before returning to the Philippines in 2021 and eventually became a Social Media Marketing scholar of the DICT. Mr. Canosa started by highlighting the advantages of digital marketing versus traditional marketing, especially for MSMEs in terms of cost, target audience, and fast feedback. He also shared factors to consider when creating content (audience and algorithm), tips, and psychological marketing triggers that influence clients’ decision making. Intentionally keeping his discussion brief to make more time for consultation, the participants made the most of the opportunity and actively participated in the Q&A portion, wherein the speaker shed some light to concerns troubling the participants.
Now on its fourth season, the Collaborative Harnessing Assistance for Mentoring Program for SMEs (CHAMPS) Rizal is a local mentoring program designed to groom Rizal-based MSMEs to qualify for flagship programs of DTI such as Kapatid Mentor ME and One Town, One Product. ♦
