About the ITC SheTrades Philippines Hub

SheTrades Philippines (PH) Hub, hosted by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Export Marketing Bureau (EMB), primarily supports Philippine women entrepreneurs and women-led micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to access global markets and promotes their equal participation in international trade.

SheTrades PH Hub which was launched during the 2020 National Exporters’ Week, in partnership with the International Trade Centre’s – a joint agency of the United Nations and the World Trade Organization – flagship Women and Trade Programme, the SheTrades Initiative.

The SheTrades PH Hub serves as a resource centre for Philippine women entrepreneurs. It adopts a three-pronged approach to ensure that the right conditions and capacities are in place for women-led businesses to thrive in international trade:

• Equipping women entrepreneurs with market-relevant skills and knowledge and facilitating their access to market and investment opportunities;
• Bringing together a community of partners (e.g. business support organizations, corporations, development partners, etc) and harnessing synergies to improve the business and trade environment for women; and
• Advocating for gender-inclusive policy reforms nationally.

The SheTrades PH Hub also supports DTI’s Gender and Development (GAD) program, which focuses on women’s participation and benefits in livelihood and entrepreneurial activities. The DTI GAD Program provides interventions for women’s economic empowerment, ensuring equitable and beneficial access to capital, technology, markets, and enhancing their entrepreneurial skills and leadership capacity.
