NORTHERN MINDANAO — One of the largest organic events in the world commenced in the organic agri-town of Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte. Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 10 took part in the grand opening of the 6th Asia Congress on June 6, 2023 at the Kauswagan International Organic Convention Center, Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte.
The event featured opening messages from Kauswagan Mayor Rommel Arnado; message of greeting from the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte; messages of support from Senator Mark Villar, Department of Agriculture, and Department of the Interior and Local Government; and congratulatory messages from private stakeholders including the National Organic Agriculture Program, IFOAM Organics International, and International Network of Eco Regions Global Alliance for Organic Districts, among others.
A testimonial on Kauswagan’s Arms to Farms program was also delivered.
The congress was attended by over 2,000 participants, with 245 foreign guests from 31 countries. It will end on June 10, 2023.
DTI-10 was represented by DTI-10 Regional Director Ermedio Abang and DTI Lanao del Norte Provincial Director Jane Marie Tabucan. ♦
