NORTHERN MINDANAO — Nineteen coffee micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and farmer organizations (FOs) from Bukidnon, Lanao del Norte, and Misamis Oriental assisted by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 10 brought their coffee beans to a bigger market in the Philippine Coffee Expo at World Trade Center Metro Manila, Pasay on June 2-4, 2023.

The Philippine Coffee Expo is the grandest national coffee event that gathers together big players in the Philippine coffee industry to tackle key challenges and opportunities through technical discussions and presentations of new technologies to increase productivity and quality and build networks within the coffee sector.

The participating coffee MSMEs and FOs were: Sikyop Agriculture Cooperative (SAC) from Lanao del Norte; and Mat-I Higaonon Free Farmers Association (MAHIFFA), M.C. COFFEE, Kape Claveria Beverage Manufacturing, Kapeng Don Narciso, Cape de Ticala, and Balubal Integrated Social Forestry Farmers Association (BISSFA), Inc from Misamis Oriental.

Meanwhile, coffee products of participating MSMEs or FOs under Bukidnon Bean, an umbrella brand that aimed to collectively promote coffee products in Bukidnon, include: Bayanihan Millenium Multi-Purpose Cooperative (BMMPC), Impalutao Dalwangan Sawaga Agrarian Reform Cooperative (IMDALSA ARC), MILALITTRA Farmers Agricultural Cooperative (MILFACO), Kauyagan Savers MPC (KSMPC), and Inhandig Tribal Multipurpose Cooperative, Monk’s Blend, Jacque’s Garden, Highland Robusta/Kape Maramag, Mirabueno, Café Rico, Kape Lumad, and Finca de Garces. ♦
