NORTHERN MINDANAO — Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 10’s Rural Agro-Enterprise Partnership for Inclusive Development and Growth (RAPID Growth) project conducted a Due Diligence Training for Coffee Nurseries on May 23-24, 2023 in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.
The training was participated by delegates from local government units of Bukidnon, Lanao del Norte, and Misamis Oriental; representatives from coffee farmer organizations; and personnel of the DTI-10 RAPID Growth project.
It was organized to provide valuable learning opportunities related to identification of high-quality coffee planting material ready for field planting.
It also aimed to facilitate the sharing of best practices throughout the procurement process, including the loading and delivery of seedlings to recipient.
The training continued with field visits on the second day to coffee nurseries in Bukidnon to get insights on good practices on maintaining a coffee nursery and nursery establishment and care management.
The coffee nurseries visited were Binahon Agroforestry Farm (BAFF) and Bukidnon Integrated Coffee Center (BICC-Nestle). ♦
