NUEVA VIZCAYA — As preparations for the upcoming DTI R2’s “Padday na Lima” Regional Trade Fair (RTF) are underway, the key officers of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 2, through the SME Development Division led by OIC Chief Desiree Angolluan and the DTI R2 Nueva Vizcaya led by Provincial Director Atty. Michael B. Paggabao convened with PCA Officer Juditte L. Asuncion of the Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya (PGNV) Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development (PROCEDE) Office on 14 March 2024, to spark possible collaborations for the RTF happening in Alabang, Muntinlupa City, by September this year.

This was another buy-in campaign meeting, which is part of the agency’s effort to garner support for the event after it got the approval of the PLGU Cagayan-Tourism Office as one of the fair’s partners. The discussion focused on the proposed partnership with the Province of Nueva Vizcaya to potentially set up a provincial pavilion as part of the fair’s components as a means of showcasing its assets and bringing some of its most prominent and abundant products to the metro. Additionally, the pavilion would feature tourism destinations, investment opportunities, and competitive incentive packages to attract.

During the meeting, OIC Chief Angolluan provided a detailed overview of the fair’s concept and components, outlining the preparatory phase and trade fair facilitation process.

Moving ahead while awaiting approval for the partnership, DTI R2 will continuously coordinate with PGNV-PROCEDE to work on the proposed plans for its involvement in more marketing activities like trade fairs, investment promotions, and other MSME development initiatives. A buy-in meeting with other LGUs and partner agencies will also be conducted as a follow-through to sustain the partnerships and extensively promote the RTF.

Also present in the meeting were BDD Chief Lenore Lee Lopez, STIDS Karen Amores, STIDS Richard Siuagan, and PROCEDE Project Development Officer Roel Dolaypan.
