Department of Trade and Industry Region 2 (DTI R2) Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Director Atty. Michael B. Paggabao conducted a courtesy visit to Mayor Remelina Peros-Galam of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Aritao on 17 April 2024. The primary focus of the visit was to explore collaborative opportunities to support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and promote consumer welfare in the municipality.

During their meeting, the discussion centered on the adoption of innovative strategies to enhance MSME growth, with a particular emphasis on integrating digital solutions such as the adoption of the PalengQR initiative. This program was designed to promote cashless payments among local businesses, enhancing transaction efficiency and financial security.

PD Paggabao also visited the Aritao Agricultural Trading Post, the Aritao Demo Farm, as well as the town’s second onion cold storage facility, where he engaged with local entrepreneurs and assessed the on-ground impact of current MSME programs.

“The integration of technology in our market systems through initiatives like PalengQR will not only streamline operations but also open up new growth avenues for our local entrepreneurs,” Mayor Peros-Galam said as she expressed optimism about the proposed collaborations.

Both the DTI and LGU Aritao are committed to working together to provide the necessary support and resources to MSMEs, as well as consumers ensuring their continued development and welfare.

Also present in the activity were Municipal Councilor Bernel A. Prado, CPD Chief Rowena F. Mayangat, and JBC Michael Angelo Laureta.
