On August 31, 2023, the Department of Trade and Industry – Philippine Accreditation Bureau (DTI-PAB) conducted an informative in-person orientation for the Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) personnel. The session was aimed at enhancing LLDA’s understanding on  DTI-PAB accreditation process and ISO/IEC 17025 standard to further their commitment in delivering high-quality services.

The enlightening in-person session featured key presentations by DTI-PAB personnel. Ms. Japhet T. Celis, DTI-PAB Promotion Officer, started the session by explaining DTI-PAB’s mandate, emphasizing the importance of accreditation in ensuring the quality and reliability of products and services across various industries.

Following this, Ms. Katrina Talle, DTI-PAB Accreditation Officer, provided an insightful overview of ISO/IEC 17025, a globally recognized standard for testing and calibration laboratories. This standard plays a pivotal role in establishing the competence and credibility of laboratories, contributing to the overall enhancement of service quality.

The session culminated with a presentation by Ms. Michelle Esteban, DTI-PAB Chief of Laboratory Accreditation Division, who thoroughly explained the accreditation process. This crucial information equips LLDA personnel with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the accreditation journey effectively.

The Laguna Lake Development Authority’s proactive request for this orientation reflects its commitment in delivering high-quality services and upholding industry best practices. By seeking to align with DTI-PAB’s accreditation processes and international standards, LLDA is taking a significant step towards achieving excellence in their endeavors.
