DTI R2 Quirino Consumer Protection Unit reminds the business owners about the various health and safety protocols.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Quirino in Region 2, through its Consumer Protection Unit, conducted post-audit monitoring of establishments on their compliance with the inter-agency task force (IATF) issued guidelines on safety and health protocols, conducted in the municipalities of Nagtipunan and Maddela.

Based on the monitoring conducted, five business firms have already opened for consumers. However, all of them offer take-out services only. Most of them were generally compliant with the standards set implemented in the Province.

As observed, there were visible markings that serve as a cue for social distancing, foot baths for disinfection before entering the establishment, protective barriers over the counter to minimize the customer-employee interactions, and a functional thermal scanner to check on customers’ temperatures as well as signages and information materials for public knowledge and awareness.

Nonetheless, the team purposively reminded the business owners/representatives to strictly comply with the public health standards and protocols to ensure that their customers and employees are safe from the threat of the viral outbreak.♦
