HONG KONG SAR – The Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC – Hong Kong), together with the Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong, the PTIC–Beijing, PTIC–Shanghai, PTIC–Guangzhou, the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), the Department of Trade and Industry –Export Marketing Bureau (DTI-EMB), the DTI-Baguio Benguet, and the Office of Agriculture Counsellor  of the Philippines in Beijing, will officially unveil its marketing campaign for the Hong Kong market entitled “Philippine Flavours” on 05 August 2021.

The unveiling ceremony will be held via Zoom and livestreamed on the PTIC-Hong Kong Facebook page. Consul General of the Philippines to Hong Kong Raly L. Tejada will deliver the welcome remarks, while DTI Secretary Ramon M. Lopez is set to stress the importance of supporting Filipino products during the closing remarks.

The main event will feature a local Philippine chef and a key opinion leader-chef in Hong Kong using Filipino ingredients to cook three (3) popular Hong Kong dishes.

The cooking video will be followed by a panel discussion on how the Philippine Flavours campaign came to be and its relevance to the Philippines and Hong Kong today.  Despite its proximity to Hong Kong, the country has remained largely untapped by Hong Kong for its food, beverages, and ingredients. The presentation will highlight the different possibilities for Filipino products to enter the Hong Kong market and explore the similarities between Filipino and Hong Kong palates and flavours. The event aims to mainstream Filipino food products and ingredients for daily use in Hong Kong cuisine.
