FRANKFURT MESSE, GERMANY — With the ultimate goal to penetrate the international market, 9 representatives from Region 2 composed of MSMEs, select Local Government Units (LGUs), and DTI officials have been chosen as part of the Philippine delegation to the Benchmarking and Market Intelligence Mission of the DTI-Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) in the AMBIENTE Consumer Goods Trade Fair, tagged as the largest and leading international trade fair in Frankfurt Messe, Germany, slated for February 3–7, 2023.

The region’s participation in Ambiente was made possible with the aid of DTI R2 and its provincial offices, as well as the DTI export promotion arm, CITEM.

The benchmarking activity will provide opportunities for manufacturers who are venturing into or have plans to go into exporting, LGUs, and other stakeholders who are interested in current trends, access, and exposure to the European design and creative market. Likewise, this will provide opportunities and build new business connections, aside from discovering the latest ideas and products from the global market spectrum.

Among the participants from Cagayan Valley are the Fundacion Pacita and Cafe du Tukon from Batanes and the H.A.R.D.I.N. Art Studio from Nueva Vizcaya, including delegates from the LGU Buguey, LGU Maddela, PLGU Nueva Vizcaya, Provincial Government of Quirino, Quirino Mamparang Lion’s Club, and PCCI Quirino Chapter. They were also joined by DTI R2 Assistant Regional Director Winston T. Singun and DTI Regional Trade and Promotions Head STIDS Desiree Angolluan.

DTI R2 continuously strengthens MSMEs’ competitiveness through a series of culture-based product development activities and assistance with mandatory certifications and requirements compliant with both domestic and global market standards. *
