January 25, 2023, the Kakao Integrated Development for Livelihood and Transformation (KIDLAT) successfully introduced a new line of chocolate products from Tangerine at Four K Kakao Farm, Barangay Villa Principe, Gumaca, Quezon.
“Tangerine” is a brand of chocolate products made from cacao grown by local farmers in Quezon and members of the Kakao Integrated Development for Livelihood and Transformation (KIDLAT), an organization of marginalized farmers that Provincial Governor Angelina “Doktora Helen” Tan spearheaded and organized during her incumbency as the 4th District Quezon Representative for the benefit of local farmers to sustain the cacao industry in the province.
Senator Mark A. Villar, as Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Trade, Commerce, and Entrepreneurship, was the Guest of Honor, along with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) 4A Regional Director Marissa C. Argente, the DTI Quezon Provincial Director Julieta L. Tadiosa, Congressman Mike Tan, the 4th District Quezon Representative, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) IVA Regional Director, Ms. Emelita P. Bagsit, the DOST Quezon Provincial Director Maria Esperanza E. Jawili, and the Department of Agriculture (DA) IVA Regional Director, Mr. Milo D. de los Reyes, also witnessed this momentous event.
The new line of chocolate products from Tangerine includes dark chocolate sugar-free, milk chocolate, dark milk chocolate, Rocky Road Panutsa with marshmallows, Panutsa Chocolate Peanut Clusters, Mendiants milk chocolate, cashew pineapple chocolate barks, green mango and sea salt chocolate, chocolate spoons (dark, milk, and white), and mocha tablea fine flavor chocolate drink. ♦
