TUGUEGARAO CITY — Fostering their strong partnership to champion the region’s export industry, DTI Region 2, led by Regional Director Leah Pulido Ocampo, members of PhilExport Region 2, and MSMEs met on January 10, 2023, to review and discuss the organization’s operations manual.

RD Leah Pulido Ocampo expressed the agency’s increased effort and approach to continuously upgrading MSMEs, as well as assistance with product development and certifications, in its effort to boost export competitiveness. She also laid out plans and directions focusing on the strengths of the region, particularly its positioning as one of the major raw material suppliers of industrial-form, pre-processed products such as flours, powders, purees, and dried goods.

With the overarching goal of PhilExport towards strengthening the strategies for export development, RD Ocampo also encouraged the organization to be more aggressive in assisting MSMEs, especially their participation in the different local and national marketing activities.

On the other hand, Mr. Arturo Tabbu, President of PhilExport Region 2, expressed his gratitude to the DTI for its continuous assistance and emphasized the concept of consolidation as a solution to leveling up in terms of exporting in the agricultural section. He also encouraged MSMEs to respond actively to the vital programs of the government to further upgrade their products to meet national standards.

Among the highlights of the discussion focused on the significance of exports, the DTI Export Program for MSMEs, PhilExport Financial Reports, Committee Reports, Memberships, Plans, and Programs, and the continuous implementation of its ongoing Trade Fair.
