CATANAUAN, QUEZON – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Quezon, through Negosyo Center (NC) San Andres, conducted Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) Awarding of Business Kits at Brgy. Madulao Covered Court, Catanauan, Quezon, together with other municipalities in the 3rd district of Quezon (San Francisco, Catanauan, Mulanay, Buenavista). It is a program of DTI that aims to provide livelihood assistance to priority microenterprises affected by fire incidents and other calamities such as armed conflicts and health disasters like COVID-19.

Fifteen (15) additional PPG beneficiaries from San Andres, including thirteen (13) females and two (2) males, received business kits worth Php 8000.00 each. Ten (10) of them received Sari-Sari Store Kits, while the remaining five (5) microenterprises received Bakery Kits. The ceremonial awarding was held at the moment and formally started at 9:00 in the morning with an opening prayer led by BC Alexis M. Alcantara of Negosyo Center (NC) San Andres, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. The ceremonial awarding was attended by PPG focal person Patrick Acesor, PPG support staff Marc Lester Ibañez, PPG staff John Mark Ricaro and Marianne Adornado, and other NCBC —Altamiel Athens Evangelista, Leah Maris De Imus, and Rose Ann Canzon. A welcome message has been delivered by Catanauan Municipal Mayor Ramon A. Orfanel, followed by an overview of the program by Provincial Director (PD) Julieta L. Tadiosa, who recapitulated statistics of PPG beneficiaries assisted by DTI Quezon from previous times to the present along the area of the 3rd district of Quezon. She emphasized that today’s event has a total of one hundred eight (108) PPG beneficiaries.

Special messages from Mayors of other municipalities had also been delivered and expressed their grateful appreciation for the assistance given to their constituents. Regional Director of Region 4A—Ms. Marissa C. Argente—also gave her special message to all attendees of the program. Afterward, a special message from PUP Mulanay Director has been given, and then a pledge of commitment has been recited by the PPG beneficiaries, led by PPG Staff John Mark P. Ricaro. A message of acceptance has been delivered by Ms. Lizabelle P. Son, followed by the crowd shot. Finally, Hon. Reynante U. Arrogancia delivered his closing message, which included motivational words for the growing microenterprises in attendance at the awarding ceremony.He also mentioned the history of SM’s success story and reminded the business owners to continue striving, no matter how small they started their business.

PPG’s awarding of business kits went well, and the beneficiaries were so grateful, as seen by the smiles on their faces as they went home after the program.
